(original photograph taken by me at Griffith Observatory)
Photography is one of the elements where stories can be told, and as one chapter slowly closes, another is soon to open. One of the biggest stories I want to capture, via digital photography, is the chapter of my decision to stop smoking. It is a large task that I am about to tackle, but it all began as a promise, a promise to myself and the man that I love. His role in this promise is just one of incentive, so why not add the bonus, but the grand prize belongs to me. In relation to photography, I will be capturing the essence of what it is like to withdraw and face the vice of smoking. I am hoping to capture a variety of expressions and moments of deep-thought, and the final product will be a mix of mediums, with photography being the exclusive element. This will also be my first serious self-portrait project, so I am excited and I can’t wait until it is all complete.
In the spirit of this project, I will allow the photo reply, and please post your favorite smoking photographs, if you would like.
